Send to a friendBill Murray's wife alleges abuse, files for divorce
Jennifer Butler Murray filed divorce papers May 12 in Charleston County. She owns a home on Sullivans Island, S.C., where she lives with the couple's four children.
Bill Murray's attorney wouldn't comment on the allegations, but said Murray "is deeply saddened by the breakup of his marriage."
Not that, one can imagine, Murray would have been a peach to live with. Even most of the characters he's played, especially in recent years, seemed a bit on the prickly side. Not counting, of course, the lovable idiot savant groundskeeper Carl Spackler in the highly regarded examination of race and class from the '80s called "Caddyshack."
Specifically, Jennifer Murray says Bill abused her and is addicted to alcohol and marijuana. (Wait, isn't pot supposed to make you mellow?) The divorce papers allege Murray would often leave without telling his wife and says he "travels overseas where he engages in public and private altercations and sexual liaisons."
It also alleges Murray physically abused her and last November "hit her in the face and then told her she was 'lucky he didn't kill her.' "

- Yeah, she is lucky he didn't kill her. Dumb bitch.

I've searched medical journals and the list of Nobel prize winners and I can't seem to find the name "Jennifer Butler" anywhere, so I'm pretty sure marrying Bill Murray was the highlight of her life. She could invent a time machine or discover another planet and her obituary would still begin with, "Bill Murray's ex-wife, Jennifer..."
